Mathew Empie , M.D.
I joined Long Pond Pediatrics in July 2006. I am originally from the Finger Lakes Region. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Economics. I stayed in Rochester for my medical school training. Following graduation I remained at the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong for my pediatric internship and residency. At completion in 2005, I was asked to remain at Strong for an additional year as a Chief Resident in Pediatrics.
I am Board Certified in Pediatrics, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
I am committed to working with the Rochester community and could not be more excited. My wife, Maureen Slattery, is a doctor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We both plan to reside and practice in Rochester for years to come. I enjoy racquet sports, skiing, music, classical literature, drawing and pottery.
Mary
Anne Kiernan, M.D.
I joined Long Pond Pediatrics in September 1992 after 8 years in practice
in Ithaca, New York. My undergraduate degree is from Marywood College
in Scranton, Pennsylvania and my medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo.
My residency and fellowship years were at Tufts New England Medical Center
in Boston, Massachusetts.
I am board certified in Pediatrics, a fellow of the American Academy of
Pediatrics, a clinical assistant professor at the University of Rochester,
and a member of the Academy’s Section on Foster Care and Adoption.
My special interest in practice is the medical care of international adoptees.
My husband and I have one daughter adopted from China and one from Kazakhstan. My interests include
traveling and many activities with the Rochester region of Families With
Children From China.
Sarah Leddy, M.D.
I joined the practice in July of 1991. I graduated from Kenyon College
and received my medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School
of Medicine. After completing my pediatric residency here at the University
of Rochester, I worked for one year in the Pediatric Emergency Department
at Strong Memorial Hospital. I am Board Certified in Pediatrics and a
Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I am also a Clinical Instructor
of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester. My husband, an architect,
and I have two children, a son and daughter. My interests include hiking,
canoeing, x-country skiing and cooking.
Elizabeth O’Brien, M.D.
I joined the practice in April of 1998. I graduated from Middlebury College
and received my M.D. degree at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After
completing my residency at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University
of Rochester, I became Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the
American Academy of Pediatrics. I am also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics
at the University of Rochester. I am married and have three daughters.
My husband and I coach Greece Girls Soccer every summer and I also enjoy
an occasional 5K-road race.
Diana R. Williams, M.D.
In August of 1994 I joined Long Pond Pediatrics after completing my Pediatric
Residency training. My pediatric training consisted of 1 year at Boston
City Hospital in Boston and 2 years at the University of Rochester. During
my final year of training I also served six months as Chief Resident at
Rochester General Hospital. I am Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow
of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I am also a Clinical Instructor
of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester. As an undergraduate I majored
in chemistry at Lincoln University. I attended Penn State University College
of Medicine in Hershey Pennsylvania for medical school. Outside the office
I enjoy traveling, sports and spending time with my family. My hobbies
are reading novels and scrapbooking. My husband is a research scientist
at Kodak. We live in West Irondequoit with our 4 school age daughters.
Rosemary Burnett, C.P.N.P.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Penn State University, graduating in 1994. I found a full-time position as a staff nurse at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the general medicine/cardiac step-down unit. I was happy to gain a position as a staff nurse on the adolescent medicine unit at the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. During that time, I completed my Masters in the Care of Children and Families, and became a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I worked for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division at GCHaS from 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2010, I worked in healthcare for Threshold Alternative Services for Youth, serving underinsured and underserved youth ages 12-25 years. I joined Long Pond as a per diem PNP in the summer of 2008, and joined them full-time in 2010.
I currently reside in Canandaigua with my husband and daughter, and my husband's teenage daughter and son when they are able. We enjoy family and friends and traveling when time allows.
Tracy Wright, FNP
I joined Long Pond Pediatrics in April 2007. I received my bachelor's degree in nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College, and my Masters degree in Science from the University of Rochester. I have been working in pediatric primary care as a nurse practitioner since 2002. I am licensed in New York State as a nurse practitioner in Family Health, certified by the American Nurse's Association, and I am a member of NAPNAP. I am also a certified lactation counselor. Before working as a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse in both obstetrics and pediatrics. I live in Spencerport with my husband, an elementary school teacher, and our son. In my free time I enjoy skiing, cooking, biking, reading, and outdoor activities.
