We believe in a team approach to your child’s health and well-being. Your child’s physician, along with the entire staff of LPPG, collaborates with each family to provide excellent pediatric care, education and support to every child.
Our five physicians and nurse practitioner are supported by a full team of kid-loving RNs and two medical technicians. The doctors hand-picked each staff member, not only for their extensive pediatric skills, but for their desire to help parents raise happy, healthy children. Rounding out this team is the clerical and administrative staff which stands ready to assist each and every patient family.

Caitlin Burzynski, M.D.
Dr. Burzynski finished her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester and joined our team at Long Pond Pediatrics in August 2021. Dr. Burzynski completed her undergraduate education at Hamilton College, graduating with Honors in Neuroscience, and subsequently served as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health for two years. She earned her medical degree from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Burzynski is particularly passionate about increasing accessibility to outdoor experiences for children.
She and her husband enjoy cooking, yoga, taking their dog for long walks, rock-climbing, cross-country skiing, and generally spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Mathew Empie, M.D.
Dr. Empie is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and clinical instructor at the University of Rochester. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Economics, and then stayed in Rochester to receive his medical school training. After completing his pediatric residency at the University of Rochester in 2005, he was asked to remain at Strong Memorial Hospital for an additional year to serve as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. Deeply committed to the Rochester community and its children, Dr. Empie then joined Long Pond Pediatrics in the summer of 2006.
He and his wife, who practices Obstetrics and Gynecology here in Rochester, have two daughters. As time allows, Dr. Empie enjoys racquet sports, skiing, music, classical literature, drawing and pottery.
Sarah Leddy, MD
Dr. Leddy joined the practice in July of 1991. She graduated from Kenyon College and received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. After completing her pediatric residency here at the University of Rochester, Dr. Leddy worked for one year in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Strong Memorial Hospital. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). She is also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Leddy and her husband have two teenage children and reside in Mendon. Along with spending time with her family and her Chinook dog, her interests include hiking, canoeing, x-country skiing and cooking
Elizabeth O’Brien, MD
Dr. O’Brien joined the practice in April of 1998. She graduated from Middlebury College and received her M.D. degree at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After completing her residency at Strong Memorial Hospital, she was asked to join Long Pond Pediatrics. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. O’Brien is also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester.
She and her husband, who reside in Greece, have three daughters and an adopted son from Ethiopia. She enjoys running and gardening when she has time!
Diana Williams, MD
In August of 1994 Dr. Williams joined Long Pond Pediatrics after completing her pediatric residency training. As an undergraduate she majored in chemistry at Lincoln University, and then attended Penn State University’s College of Medicine in Hershey Pennsylvania. Her pediatric training consisted of one year at Boston City Hospital in Boston and two years at the University of Rochester. During her final year of training Dr. Williams also served six months as Chief Resident at Rochester General Hospital. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). In addition, she is also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester.
Outside the office Dr. Williams enjoys traveling, sports and spending time with her family. Her hobbies include reading novels and scrapbooking. She and her husband, who reside in West Irondequoit, have four daughters and one grandchild.

Tracy Wright, RN ,MS, FNP, APRN-BC
Originally, I joined Long Pond Pediatrics in 2007 until 2013 when I went on to work in otolaryngology, pediatric emergency care and school-based health care. I look forward to using my previous experience at Long Pond Pediatrics.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan College in 1997 and I earned my Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner Program at University of Rochester in 2002
I live in Spencerport with my two children. In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, yoga and reading.
